despite having deep roots within the club scene as a acclaimed producer, remixer and busy dj, kasper bjørke has in the past years been focusing his own album productions on song oriented compositions, suitable for home listening rather than the dance floor. the djs and ravers have been kept busy with remixes of his original versions - but for this new release, kasper turns his own full attention to the business of making people move. fountain of youth is a mini-lp drawing on kaspers 15 years immersed in club culture and inspired by some of the genres he plays in his own dj sets around the world, house, classic electro, post disco and techno.

you can always trust ludovic llorca. once a year he locks himself in his studio and works the magic which results in a local talk release. his previous releases on local talk, the same thing (classic proto housemeets-baggy us garage vibe) the rainbow song (it sounds like an underground summer anthem in waiting) are lt classics and now, ludo returns with a third release, i just can t ep. while some producers struggle with new ideas, trying to re-invent the genre, ludo sticks to what he knows best. strings and chords combined with a thick and squelchy bass is the foundation of the title track while on the flip, dirty stories, is as hypnotic as it is jackin, in fact, both tracks are so irresistible you d start wondering if ludo stole them from a snake charmer.

the next release on our label comes from our dear friend franco cinelli from argentina. franco is one of the main artists and pioneers of electronic music in his country and also has been working as a dj outside of argentina for many years now. besides the fact that he is a very talented and super tight dj, franco also has been releasing some impressive music over the past years. we have been following his productions for quite a while and therefor we are super happy to finally welcome him on board of our label with this truly great release

for the second bad barbie records vinyl release of 2016 we are more than exited to bring you the magnificent work from the bla bla music owner daniel sanchez with his impromptu ep. here we have four amazing pieces where each one tells a different history. the first one pearled into droplets saw the light after a great live jam and the result is combination of several layers of base elements with subtle minimalistic articulations. these, in combination of the bass and synths lines do create a truly amazing micro house piece. the second one vague, is an atmospheric dub were a single synth chord raises in slowly, followed by a very subtle kick and bass line to set a bit of rhythm to the whole thing, creating a superb dreamy vibe while the chords do their thing with delicate reverbs and delays in the backend. a great musical piece indeed. for the third track we have yi, again another amazing micro house jewel born from a live jam, but this one is even more energetic than the first one and it also includes, besides a rocking bass line, analog synth chords that lifts up the mood during specific moments, which also do their part articulating themselves perfectly with some occasional twisted vocals that helps create an amazing party vibe from beginning to end. and if this wasn t enough we also have bedroom stories vocal tool that daniel included with his delivery, which can help spice up a dj set with ease.

nycs legendary sam records dropped the mysteriously named k.i.d.s dont stop- in 1981. it has it all trancey arpeggios, vocoders & vocals trading off with each other, brass & some heavyweight disco drums that helped propel it forth into the hallowed category of club classic. the record perfectly suited the open minds and open ears of discerning disc jocks in locales such as new york and chicago where this sublime piece of electronic disco sleaze would get plenty burn on the city s infamous wbmx thus having a huge impact, along with a whole host of other similar records, on the burgeoning house scene that was germinating in the fertile mid western soil. b-side cut do it again is a pleasant enough early 80 s disco jam, but compared to the futuristic burner that is dont stop on the other side theres one clear winner. a must have for all cosmic, disco, funk aficionados. now made available again, legitimately licensed, remastered and reissued in conjunction with sam records new york city.

those familiar with the world of dub disco and modern balearica should know all about layne fox, a san francisco-based producer who has released some killer records over the last decade as part of noted collective 40 thieves. the bay area ensemble has been responsible for some killer records, including gems on rong music and leng, who released their expansive debut album the sky is yours back in 2014. now, fox has decided to go it alone for an outing on magic feet that marks his first solo outing since 2005 s move me under the tuffy alias. its something of a gem, too, effortlessly combining many of his familiar influences with nods towards druggy italo-disco and horizontal pop.

this track has been in my computer since a little while when dj sotofett joined me here in amsterdam, to play an epic back to back at the school (amazing new club here). when i am doing a track, it could go to a lot of different directions as im jamming them for hours in my pipe studio. i sometimes could get lost. so i asked sotofett to join me in the studio to help to finish it. then we ended with those 2 versions of cham, which are, as often when i work with the sextags man, the result of live takes almost unedited. we also add some percussions from shadi khries and we recorded two versions of the same track within hours. one being bass driven with a lot of psychedelic noises and the other one more space-techno. our adventures continues, here is another slice of spaced out music.hope you ll enjoy.

celebrating 10 years as a label, rekids founder radio slave delivers a mesmerizing production with a remix from ostgut ton’s marcel dettmann. since its birth in 2006 matt edwards’ rekids has played host to some of today’s most renowned names in house and techno, including the likes of nina kraviz, roman flu&#776,,,gel, shed and mr. g. with releases on the likes of r&s and running back, radio slave is one of the world’s finest producers, whose dance-floor focused cuts earned him the title of resident advisor’s most charted artist of 2015.
radio slave’s ‘vision’ is a dusky number possessing popping kicks and ebbing pads that meander forward as a murky voice proclaims the track title. meanwhile, marcel dettmann’s remix distorts the original whilst emphasising the low-end to give it a dark and ominous aesthetic.

this one has been in the making for a loooong time and we do believe you will agree it was worth the wait. tj kong has been releasing some serious vocal house masterpieces over the past year on compost and other labels of fame, so it was only a matter of time before they ended up on wph. when it comes to vocals few do it better than gustaph, the belgian lead vocalist of hercules & love affair and a close friend of the wph family. inside story: gustaph provided non-credited (but paid) backing vocals for fcl’s ‘it’s you’ stormer. with tj kong gustaph takes up the role of both lyrics writer and vocalist and does so to devastating effect in absolute perfect unison with the track provided by tj kong & modular k. it’s classic but very very fresh. on the flipside tj kong & modular k team up with french wonderboy art of tones aka llorca for a trip into house music stabs & strings bliss. if the dream is always the same, we do hope this is the one you are re-dreaming. wph ten-3, niceness to the max!

about a year ago nico stojan and acid pauli met at the studio to record some music. while doing so they discovered their common love for sample based production. so they were basically digging into old vinyls and eventually these three tracks came along. nothing more to say, but enjoy. call of the valley is the first release on the new label ouie: there has been a shift in this tiny piece of massive world and, like all other shifts, they are documented by those who were there. ouie is the label to do just that, created by the people who were there, making those shifts.

nightime drama is proud to present a 3 track ep from yoshihiro arikawa, featuring a remix by aubrey. the tokyo based producer yoshihiro arikawa is known for a compound of minimal and 90 s ghetto house, releasing a series of critically heralded eps on logistic in france, kb and his own label kodaira tracks under his alias d kawa between 2003 and 2009. after a short hiatus, arikawa restarted the activities under his real name and has revealed a new aspect of his music on a number of releases from international labels such as affin, hypnotic room, labyrinth, m_grey, toffler sound and swap. his first release on nightime drama comes with a remix from aubrey who is no stranger to any techno lover’s ears. with over 25 years in the industry, he has been involved with some of the biggest names in the business and brings a funky energetic remix to the release.

having debuted his first critical release “monolith” back in 2012 the emperor name has become synonymous with some of the most breathtaking drum & bass of recent times. since the begin ep” and his collaborative “hello world ep” with mejus took the scene by storm, emperor’s heavyweight approach culminated with the utterly outrageous “into black ep” which pushed all the levels to the max. now “dispostions” looks set to cement his status at the top of the leader board.

british techno producer tom dicicco makes his debut on delsin now after many fine releases on off minor recordings, the corner and his own run out run and inner surface music. he is someone with a textural richly, forceful sound that is dark and abstract yet enriched with very real emotions and here he is on point once more with some of his most sensitive and cerebral cuts yet.

one of the many delsin off shoots welcomes fast rising shlomo to the fray for a new ep featuring three singular originals and one excellent remix from artekfakt. the taapion records boss has previously released on wolfskuil and bright sounds and here serves up some truly sumptuous space techno. the artefakt remix is actually a collage of all three shlomo originals and is a suspenseful, hypnotic and sublime techno roller that carries you tiny another dimension. this is perfectly heady music for cerebral dance floors.

the first compilation on the dresden based label shtum unites three label regulars and one newbie with four tracks suitable for rampant basements. -motorcity racers- has been on rotation for quite some time amongst the label heads and is the first sign from poland s chino on shtum. it floats somewhere between dirty detroit and the rough corners of the netherlands. leibniz delivers the -real life-, a relatively straight follow-up to his latest ep, while jaures hit their drum machines like there is no tomorrow. perm s cut is all loopy and succeeds in creating an irresistible atmosphere with just a few elements. the artwork comes courtesy of carl-johannes schulze.

last year saw the mysterious garage shelter make their debut appearance on skylax, and little is still known about them! all we know is they are back with some freshness on the skylax classic sublabel. first up is bring back love, a track that will sink its claws in with that infectious vocal sample hook. sticking with the old school sample vibe is the lonely heart dub of attempt, it’s a bit more mellow but still has plenty of groove in it. friend of the garage shelter, dj la foudre, appears over on the b side with it’s alright (signal st mix). still on that catchy sample tip, it features one of the grooviest bassline and funky guitar pairings i’ve heard in a long time. next up, perception 66 is a smooth house affair from yet another friend, asa no hikari. rounding out the package is garage shelter’s own you (still), a dreamy pad-driven track that may indeed be the pick of the release. while we don’t know much about garage shelter, we can’t help but look forward to what they come out with next!

paris-based beat x changers brings up to you a new record with a collaborative project in the shape of classic cuts.our new release introduces two new french artists brought together on a split ep: tell from paris and name from the sunny avignon city, both of them backed- up by exclusive remixes from three of our historical beat x producers: neue grafik and pulkone (aka x_1 & monomite). on the a-side, discover tell - a 20-year old jazz drummer - who releases two soulful and melodic tracks. you’ll recognize the heat of the mpc grain, obsessing samples and uplifting breaks. on the b-side, southern producer name offers a disco-like and funky house music via two dancing tracks with a clear reference to the clubbing universe of new york and chicago. this activist dj and experimented producer – he is an ableton teacher on the side – gained recognition in the south of france music scene in the last decade and reached the ears of producer kink.grand Écart (i.e. wide gap or split) recalls the time it took to release this ep. it’s also a geographical gap, a gap between the ideas of the five artists brought together on this release, a gap between our expectations and the reality of some passed – or cancelled – venues in paris. we have always believed in this project and in our flexibility!

ultratheque pays tribute to glasgow s first ever laser disco and the first dancehall that hifi sean frequented as a teenager. soft cell/the grid analogue keyboard maestro dave ball adds his trademark sound on this solid electro groove making it sound like some lost dub from nyc danceteria days dave himself with skull bandits crank up the electroclash vibes on the remix and turn it into a full on dancefloor onslaught like ultratheque itself was back in those laser-tastic days.

frankfurt based producer, dj and music lover martin heimann presents his debut single salto on carry on 008. remaining faithful to its name, the small label puts out another piece of limited wax every once in a long while. enrooted in the soundscapes of 80s proto house the original version of salto is a thriving piece of octave liberation. consistent changes between harmonics break up the repetitive structure, while fm pads and the 303 are performing a little duet. the release is ennobled by two proper remixes from moon b (peoples potential unlimited) and jex opolis (good timin). while moon b keeps it bubblin’ with some extra analogue funk bounce and subtle italo dance floor energy, the b-side is jexi-fied with some embellishment to the cords, change in the bassline and a nice 808 snap. on top mr. opolis adds some mysterious but cheesy vocals samples that match perfect with the moody 80s orchestral stabs.

koehler returns to berceuse heroique with his third release for the label. contra blood invokes the spirit of early no u turn records, infusing some techno dynamics, creating a very interesting anthem for people who don’t care about boundaries in dance music. flammarion breach combines his classic ‘ardcore techno sound with a repetitive arpeggio that recalls the tension of some of the best film scores by john carpenter. with rotating rupees, koehler delivers another beautiful ambient tune and this time its his ode to zelda.

morah’s first release came from helena hauff’s return to disorder label and this time the athenian producer takes the same techno and electro sound and goes completely berserk for berceuse heroique. morah creates some huge waves of feedback on anarchy, which sounds like a techno version of metal machine music, then he takes the old school viewlexx sound and makes it even more confrontational, on you said no and impasse. looking back is a beautiful, melancholic - but still very dysfunctional - version of the death of a rave. one of the strongest points of this new producer is that his music sounds like the city of athens right now: raw energy mixed with manic depression and pessimism.

on his first release for berceuse heroique, rotterdam’s finest dj overdose meets one of the strongest producers of detroit, mr. ob ignitt. overdose creates the best soundtrack for a “march of the robots” scene with dead city. the mighty bounce of early dr. dre productions meets some nasty electro carnage. on sorry to disappoint you can hear the classic west coast electro sound of some of his older releases mixed with some funky sci-fi synth lines. then, ob ignitt takes this monster of a tune and creates one of the gnarliest house tunes of this year with a proper g funk bassline that will properly test your sound system on a good night.

anyone familiar with the music of sinisa tamamovic knows the man is an expert in techno floor fillers.... the tracks here are no exception, valentina and confused reside in the world of bold, unrelenting grooves constructed with little more than bass and drums: and they get the job done. the bass lines are distinctly sinisa, simple, catchy, and mixed exquisitely, they take on a whole new attitude when played on club systems. valentina starts things strong, its driving rhythm gains energy as atmospheres develop and an worldly vocal enters, a latin american street rhyme that gives the track some international flare. confused is more raw, employing rough drums and ethereal sound effects. either one will do the trick for peak hours and late nights, and expect to hear these all over the place at wmc 2016
